Transform Anxiety into Action

Hello Reader,

Physical and Emotional Clutter

Yes, they do go together!

A good example of this is when we are feeling uneasy, anxious or even upset about an issue or a situation. We might even feel stuck where we just don't want to do anything. We can't move forward and we just want to numb ourselves until these uncomfortable feelings go away. Ugh! Can you relate?

Quite awhile ago I was quite upset and disappointed with a "friend". There was a group of us who were planning a road trip together. I had asked this friend if I could travel with her and I got nothing. Crickets....no reply.....nothing. However, she was still answering other emails. I felt hurt!

So, I decided to get off of my pity pot and started to clear out the medicine cabinet (which hadn't been done in years, lol). As I cleared, I started to look at the situation in a different way. I decided to get a little work done on my car and asked a couple of my friends if they would like to travel with me. It ended up being a great day. I had taken my power back and it felt amazing!

On the other hand........

You can do the same thing when you are working with your stuff and you feel like you want to avoid it, or you just can't get started and you are feeling overwhelmed.

Do some writing on it, asking yourself some direct questions about why you feel this is so hard. What is really going on for you and how can you look at it in a different way?

Would you like to Get to The Root Cause of Your Clutter by doing some writing on it. Pull out The Decluttering Journal or if you don't have one yet here is where you can get it.

Note: I know writing is not for everyone. You could talk it over with someone or ponder your thoughts while taking a walk or doing some gardening.

What comes up for you when you think about this connection? What do you do to work through things? As always, I love hearing from you.

Until next time,

Happy Decluttering!

Hello Reader, You sit in your favourite chair and have all of your treasured things close by and just within arms reach. You have you tea or other favourite beverage beside you. You have your blanket and maybe your kitty on your lap. And this is your safe and happy place. Can you relate to this? I have my hand up here too! We often think of clutter as laziness, messiness, or just “too much stuff.” But maybe it’s more than that? What if it’s a kind of a protection that we create for ourselves?...
