Time To Do Some Weeding

Hello Reader,

Every year I attempt to get this nasty goutweed out of my garden. It’s in the front yard as well as in the back.

The roots go so deep and they pop up underneath and spread like crazy. Honestly I cannot get a handle on it and maybe its impossible to get all of the roots. This year there are more than ever.

Last year when I was working in the garden and getting rid of this terrible weed, I started to think of it as similar to clutter.

If you don’t get to the roots the weeds just come back.

This is such a great metaphor for the clutter in our lives.

If you don't get to the root cause of the clutter, it will likely come back just like those weeds.

Maybe you have had some help in the past and have been able to get your kitchen or entranceway in order.

If you did not get to the underlying cause of the clutter, why it is there in the first place and what is driving you to hold onto things........... the clutter is going to resurface.

Some things that will help:

. Looking at your why’s

. Developing a plan of action

. Looking deeper into the thoughts and beliefs that come up

. Recognizing where you are stuck

. Practicing some new skills and habits

. Establishing a new decluttering mindset

. Transforming your space

I am available for one hour appointments as well - Only $60.00

Or.....if you know how I can get rid of that nasty goutweed I would love to hear from you.

An update on the kitchen renovation

Week one with no kitchen sink in the books. One more week to go and we should be all up and running by next Monday. Fingers crossed. There have been a few surprises and hiccups but that is to be expected in these old houses. Pics to come next week.

Hello Reader, I know right - Me neither! Most people would never fantasize about cleaning out the basement. lol But.......the point is that sometimes we set unrealistic goals for ourselves. If the job is too big then it is easy to sabotage our intentions. We will find anything to do other than the task at hand. We might say "oh I think I will make a full on breakfast first, or "Let's go and get some bins, garbage bags, cleaners etc."........anything but going down to the basement. Basements...

Hello Reader, The best way to declutter is when you are packing to move or packing for a renovation. Yes, we are renovating our kitchen! Ugh! I am nervous and excited! I have dreamt about this for so long. Our house was built around 1956 or so and the cupboards have not changed since then. They bang when you close them and actually they have ceased closing properly. Also, the bottom ones just open randomly as you are trying to cook dinner. And every time those top drawers open and close wood...
